One Mile Brewery began as a passion project in 2012. Starting in a shed near the old One Mile Station.
The brewery has refined their craft and product range over many years.

Today they are based in Winnelie, and focus on flavourful, easy‑drinking beer, vodka, and gin perfect for the Northern Territory climate.

Day 12 – A Hat-Trick of Brolgas & A Year to Celebrate - Facebook issues, so late post and no pictures.

2023 was a year to breathe, enjoy, and celebrate everything we’d built so far. We were honoured to win another Brolga Award our third in a row. We must be doing something right, hey? Big thanks again to Todd and the crew who always seem to collect these awards on our behalf you’re legends!

It was also a year of great support from local venues and mates who kept One Mile flowing, proving once again that people in the know seek out the real deal.

The venue itself came alive not just with beer, but with laughs. Thanks to Brent and his Fruit Bat Comedy nights, One Mile played host to some of the funniest gigs in Darwin, bringing plenty of Territory humour through our doors.

We also rocked Darwin’s best Oktoberfest outside of Munich of course and kept the tradition alive with Territory flavour, big cheers, and even bigger beers.

And the Hash House Harriers? They absolutely rocked the Territory in true Hash House form, hosting their national gathering in Darwin and bringing with it that one-of-a-kind energy only they know how to deliver.

2023 was about enjoying the ride, celebrating with great staff, great mates, a great venue, and of course the best beverages in the Territory.

At the end of the day, it’s still just two Darwin mates having a crack. Proof that with hard work, grit, and determination you really can make waves and build something lasting.

By 2022, it felt like we’d been expanding forever when you do it slow, using every cent of savings you have, it’s like you’re always building something new. This time we took a big leap and bought our own canning machine, along with a room full of cans.
We were one of the first in Australia to adopt East Coast Canning’s new printed cans, joining their first run when they started printing directly onto cans. Suddenly, One Mile beer was dressed to impress.
Our crew kept growing, and with it our ideas. We won another Brolga Award thanks to Erin and her amazing skills. Erin also invented the beer bouquet, a hit so good we thought Alex was going to propose that day!
We celebrated for any reason and so did our customers. We took PINKY, put it into pouches, and absolutely smashed it out of the park at Cocktail Fest. Then, at Darwin Festival, history was made when a local beverage in a can was sold for the first time, and it was One Mile.
And of course, a huge shout-out to our mates and absolute legends at Bettercups, Sam and Christie. They’ve been there for so many festivals, always bringing good vibes and even greater friendship. You’ve been an incredible part of the One Mile story, and we can’t thank you enough for all your support over the years.
Day 11 of 14: The year we went from bottles to cans, from ideas to icons, and proved once again there’s never a dull moment at One Mile.

Day 10 – The Big Bounce Back

2021 was the year the Territory shook off the dust of lockdowns and came back stronger than ever — and One Mile was right there at the center of it.

Our doors were open, the schooners were flowing, and festivals roared back to life. With the outside area taking shape, we finally had the space to host bigger crowds, better events, and give Territorians the brewery experience they’d been waiting for.

The Beer Response Units (BRUs) and the Food & Beer Van were everywhere pulling up at markets, festivals, and events across Darwin. Wherever Territorians gathered, One Mile was there too. We even added the 3rd BRU BABY made to look sharp thanks to Bamble.

It wasn’t just festivals like our BBQ Lot series that grew we also brought back Oktoberfest in true Territory style, and kicked off a cheeky new tradition with our Easter Bunny Beers in the cool room, giving locals a reason to celebrate year-round.

2021 was about building momentum: more live music, more events at Winnellie, more people discovering their new favourite local brewery. After the grind of the previous year, it felt like we’d finally hit stride again.

Day 10 of 11: The year we bounced back, launched new festivals and traditions, expanded the BRU fleet, and proved that One Mile wasn’t just surviving we were thriving.

Through it all, it was still just two Darwin locals, no banks, no investors just a couple of mates, a family brewery, and the Territory backing us every step of the way.
